Been watching it on IRC all day.  Didn't get much done at work today, heheh.  We had a 20+ mile lead, had a fuel isue, Adam passed us, we passed him back around RM 235, pulling away from them again.  Scott should be getting in soon.

So I'm sitting here watching IRC to see how Scott and Dave are doing, thinking that I should be in Nevada chasing a car at o dark thirty right now.  So all I can do is reread the race report for last years race Vegas to Reno.  What a great time! I love our team, the people, the racing.  I sure do miss not being there right now.

BUT,  doing the peninsula run should make up for it!!

Scott called me at the finish line.  You should have heard the "woo hoos" they were so excited.

Scott, it was killing me to watch it as well.  I wanted to be up there chasing as well.  Life/Work just gets in the way!

Bob, I was staring at the computer all day at work as well.  I was worthless at work, I did what needed to be done and that was it!  Went to dinner with the DJR crew and even took the laptop, but no Wifi!  That was hard!  Had Tony texting me giving me updates.  I felt like a "junkie"  LOL>

I fell asleep watching on IRC.

From what I could tell on IRC, Dave/Scott finished around 1:20AM, second place came in after 3AM.  Dave's car was way faster all day long.  Reported fuel pick up problem (visions of wiffle balls) cost them an early 25+ mile lead.  They were trailing by 20 miles or so when they recovered.  They caught back up and passed for the lead in about 80 miles of racing.

I am back, mostly recovered, tired.  Dave's car is very impressive in the rough stuff.  We had a pretty good driveline vibration at speed that kept us mostly around 90mph top speed.  We saw triple digits once, but had such a lead that we didn't want to push it.  We were only passed once by a TT in the fast stuff, when the air cleaner was so plugged that we only had about 50% power.  We passed class 1's, 10 cars, and 7200's all night in the rough stuff.

There is still no team like DJR!  Co-dogging just gives me more respect for Scott and Dan and the job that they do.

It's also hard to trust chase guys that you don't know!  I wanted 'our' crew that knows how to race and knows how to get things done.

You guys catching the Pistol and Dave show over on PBB?  Some funny stuff!

Jess from HAD started it with his usual crypytic, only makes sense to Jess post, then Pete and Dave start going at it...

It's good stuff.  Dave's car is very good.  Top speed is an issue as well as the short wheelbase, but it is as smoth as Nutters 129 car and better than it in the rough soft stuff.  Pete is Pete and he can't compete with the Baldwins and Gordons of the sport and their budget.  We had drinks with Pete at the KOH premier and he is not the coolest guy in the world.  I'll route for Robby still.

Pete used to be my boy, after watching his antics on the internet over the last year or so, he makes it hard to cheer for him.  Robby is cool!

Pete is a complete idiot i agree. He talked ALOT of smack to ray ray when he out qualified him at parker. And later posted an in car video pete's truck at the starting line on race dezert. Ray was directly in front of pete and all they did was talk bad about ray. It's 1 thing to talk bad about a guy but it's another to talk bad about a guy he doensn't even know. Or heard of for that matter. He's a tool, GO robby

I dumped 4 quarts of diesel engine oil in Pete's junk at a Barstow race a few years back (whatever race we plumbed the fuel pick up through the fill tube)...What is it with Hartman and fuel pick up issues?  He damn near ran Garth and I over busting into our pit.  Started yelling he needed oil, gallon jug of diesel grade oil is what we had handy.

I talked Pete and Lance up at our BFG pit at the 500 a couple of years back...cheered as he came by...WAY to fast...they completely blew a 90* left just past our pit, scattering the locals standing in the road.  Later Lance said he missed the call for the turn.

I can't help for but pull for the guy come race day, but damn he makes it hard!
