All is well here in Northeast Indiana, I went through the whole Photobucket debacle thing, that sucked! then I was using SmugMug, which was a great site, but they raised their price to where I thought it was to high for me to continue. To say the least I was frustrated and just stopped posting. My old photos will probably start to disappear and I don't want to take the time to go back and replace them all o_O

I have also been dealing with a very old leg issue that has gotten worse over the years and that has slowed me down some .

I also have a granddaughter in girls high school wrestling that we follow very close and she went all the way to state again this year, so that took a lot of time out of my schedule, but it is total awesome following her

I will stop crying now and pick up where I left off posting about my anvil that I was working on.

Don had asked if I had burnt the wood on my anvil stand, I did not burn it, I just put on a couple of heavy coats of MINWAX dark walnut stain, let it soak in for a while, then rubbed it out, the Douglas Fir is soft and really soaked up the stain. I really like how it turned out

54235758404_ee5825be1a_o.jpg

Scott said the anvil needed to be orange, so I stripped her down and created a new badge for it too.

Where my daughter lives they had a fall community wide bulk item pick up (AKA trash), I was over to her house and her neighbor threw out this old cast iron bench, I didn't get a before picture of it, but it was in rough shape.

This was some of the wood that was on it o_O

54287156581_88e0a1182d_o.jpg

I went out into the wood shop and ripped down some new hard wood boards.

54286270337_4ff34c2317_o.jpg

After cleaning the cast iron legs with some Scotch-Brite pads, I gave them a couple of coats of clear to seal them up then I drilled and test fit the new boards.

54287392309_8e63eaec6d_o.jpg

I removed the boards and put a radius on them with the router, then sanded them down.

54286270327_21638a79ce_o.jpg

I put two coats of stain on the new boards.

54287581825_cf05a25175_o.jpg

I set the boards outside and used some spray urethane on them to seal them up.

54287392284_e279f9d883_o.jpg

I put the bench back together and placed it on the front porch

Had to replace the service door into the barn this past fall, the install went off without a hitch, I just bought a storm door for it, but its still sitting inside the barn, we had a artic cold front blow in that made me lazy and want to stay inside 🤣

I'm trying to catch up with what has been going on in DaBarn, I decided for Christmas that I would make my son a pub table for his place, it turned out so much better than I thought and the pictures don't do it justice, I will be quiet now and just post the pics of it from start to finish

I poured two part epoxy over the top of the table and it turned out amazing, the photos don't do it justice

I like Bud Light, but never seen Bud Light Golden Wheat. What’s it like?
I was wondering the same thing and took a quick spin on the Google and it was discontinued in 2012! Saving those caps for a special occasion. Table looks great - last time I tried a small epoxy pour I messed it up and the epoxy never set right. Remained sticky forever.

Thanks for the updates - things are looking good at Da Barn!

I recently got to go to a local gentlemen's house to be the first one in, he is getting older and decided to start selling some of his life time collection off. I only left with two items, that's all the money I had and I just spent my allowance for the next two years 🤣

Here's some pics of his garage :thumbup:

I also purchased this Sinclair sign, its 2' tall and 14' wide, the picture is of it hanging in his garage, its still sitting on DaBarn floor waiting for a good cleaning and new hardware to hang it.

Well done! I'd like to check that old boy's inventory for a Marland Oil sign. A friend has an old gas station that is now his car resto and machine shop. It was a Marland station way back in the day.

Also subscribed for the fabrication work too. I like to see people doing things well that I used to screw up. ;)

Indiana? My dad's family was in Princeton. (y)

The pub table is now at my son's house, you will have to wrestle him for it! I'm too damn old for that **** 🤣

I had a friend wanting to name his newly built man cave, so I suggested "The Dog House", because he had his birthday party there for his guy friends, well he fell asleep (AKA Passing out) and never made it home until daylight, to say the least his wife was not happy, we have all been there before. 🤣

So over the weekend I made him a sign to hang in his new mancave, um I mean Dog House 🐶

54292020371_8d5944bbf4_o.jpg

I started by laying out a design on a piece of .060 thick 3003 aluminum sheet 2'x4'.

54292269908_10b8a06b4c_o.jpg

I used my new bead roller to lay out a simple radius 1 3/4" in from the edge all the way around, then I punched holes 3/4" in from the edge.

54292020361_8742e6ecf8_o.jpg

Not quite perfect, but I like how its turning out

54292020366_be9e82bc25_o.jpg

Then I added brass rivets to dress it up a bit.

54292447275_4de264f9b7_o.jpg

I designed some lettering and cut it out on my vinyl cutter.

54292269898_31f2af81db_o.jpg

For a quick little job I like how it turned out

Last year for Don's 75 Birthday I made him some BPG oil cans, I designed and printed off some extra vinyl decals to make another set for myself.

54294108933_b4422ca764_o.jpg

I finally emptied out a gallon can and one quart can to make my Big Party Garage oil can set

54294287635_d25e7345ee_o.jpg

I cleaned up the tops and painted them a metallic blue.

54292975197_9a9d5ff143_o.jpg

Now I have one of only two sets known to exist in the world of Big Party Garage oil cans 🤣
