You've waited till retirement to do this, you've done well! I caught the officers side mirror of a firetruck backing into a firehall many yrs ago. Welcome to the club, and I think your mancard is safe.
I gave you a thumbs up for the Vette.....no comment on the truck.....
$665 & change. That is cheap... I believe that was less than the tailgate shell for my old F250... total estimate was about $2800.
If it makes you feel better, my step dad has backed into the bedside of his Ranger with his 5x10 trailer....3 times I believe...
***** about the truck, but mistakes happen and sounds like you should get out without too much cost other than some pride.
Truck hurts, small pain.

**** happens, and to err is human.
It's a bummer, been there, but it can be fixed.
Yes it does, and your thought process on it all was an added bonus!
Love the explanation of the tab and slot thought process and that vette pic is beautiful!
Appreciate the tab/slot discussion.

Payment schedule? Other than the business, the last payment I made was in 2001 thanks to my WIfe the savvy investor and guardian of all things cash.
I kind of figured that apart as I was typing it
Yeah, I know who it goes....I'm just glad I got rid of that payment 6 years ago or so.... granted, your place is way nicer than mine.Oh I take that back...lol...forgot about the house. Opps...my head was counting Cylinders and since I am not allowed near the Checkbook. Well you know.

It's been a little quiet in this thread. I realized I hadn't seen high precision sheet metal work or race car parts in a little while. Hope all is good and you're just busy building cool things!

Pat, my sundial shows it's your birthday today. So.... Happy Birthday Pat!
(The colors are a reminder that you may be a member of the combo gift club born this time of year.)
Happy Birthday Homeboy- enjoy it.
Yes, happy birthday! You've been quiet lately, so I bet that means busy!
Happy Birthday Pat. Hope you have a good one buddy.

Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday Pat! Enjoy the day!

Glad to see you're still able to work in the shop Pat. If you're like me, selling the sleds after decades of snowmobiling was hard. Looking back I have no regrets though, they were fun while it lasted and it was time to move on. My wallet thanks me too.
Are you still looking to move out of Minnesota? If so, what will you do with your business and where are you looking if you don't mind me asking?
Pat,
Do you know what company is doing the roto-mold on the gas tank?

Hey Mike, I'll always be working in the shop!!!
I rode from 1970 until '91-92? and woke up one morning and sold everything. My riding buddies were all getting married and starting families and that sucked the wind out of it. In 2010 or so I bought another sled and as usual I jumped in head first and next thing I know it is a new sled every year and some years the snow is OK, some there isn't any and only 2 in the last 15 have been great years.
Typical riding season is January and February...and a little in March. 8-12 weeks of riding??? I gotta be nuts.
Thus it became an easy decision. No regrets.
Working on rotating the $ into something Belt Fed, an M3 or a BAR.
Out of MN? YES!!!
Where: SD, MT, WY, ID, TN
The Business will stay put in MN. People are what make the machine run. There is a pool of highly skilled fabricators in the area. There are a number of focused highly skilled fabricator pockets around the country too. In the areas we are looking to move, there is no one...period. Anyone worth their salt is employed in those low density areas.
Wisconsin is only 4 miles from my front door and 15 miles from the plant. Issue there is, land values have sky rocketed with all the Minnesotans jumping the boarder now that the new bridge is in place in Stillwater. Long term, WI is only 2-3 election cycles behind MN as to how they will end up.
I will maintain my ownership. With the technologies available today, communication should not be an issues. Need to develop a Drone so I can do virtual walk-throughs of the plant like I do now.
Looks like he checked in today on the forum. Knowing Pat, he'll make a grand post leaving us all to drool.I wonder if he's been packing up his shop. Last I read he was looking to escape Minnesota.
