Lectrolite 216 6 in slip joint pliers 113025 01.jpgLectrolite 216 - 6 inch slip-joint pliers

Oddly, I am not able to find this part number in any documents. There are several pairs of this same model for sale on the web. Because of the finish, I am wondering if perhaps this was a later "budget" version - they were most certainly not making any extra effort to get to "pretty".

During WW2 the government was very specific about how well finished tools could be. That could be the case with your 216 pliers. IMG_9138.jpeg
Check out the finish on these Walden sockets I found today.IMG_9137.jpeg

I filled out my Lectrolite set a little faster than I expected. Figured it would take several years. I had some good luck this summer at fleamarkets acquiring needed wrenches. I was just looking at the set a few weeks ago and broke down and bought the last 3 I needed from Ebay. I probably could have eventually found them cheaper elsewhere but it is nice having the set complete. Some in the set are well used and some look close to new,but that doesn't bother me. They were made to be used and fix things and i am proud to now be their caretaker.

Nice set, Farmer Bill! Congratulations on completion

This is my recent addition (finally cleaned them up - life had been busy and I did not clean all the tools from the autumn)

Speaking of cleaning wrenches. Is there a preferred product, like wax or something, that will provide a level of protection to help keep rust from coming back? At least to help slow its return.

I always used to use Johnsons Paste Wax but it is no longer made. I have been trying Ballistol recently and so far so good. Will see how it works in the long run.

That roll is in very good condition. The one I found at the Tahoe flea in 2017 wasn’t in such good condition. Mine contained S-K Lectrolite wrenches rather than Lectrolite. I assume they used the same roll for both differently marked wrenches. IMG_5205.jpeg
Here is a smaller roll with Lectrolite wrenches. This one is from 2018.IMG_1169.jpeg

Thank you! Trying to get those wrenches stacked up in that holder is a test of patience, it's no wonder many are missing.

I found these in with Dad’s tools. I don’t know how old they are, he had them as far back as I can remember.
Probably made between 1950 and 1955. The rolls came in different sizes. Mine holds 6 combo wrenches. misterbill has a 5 wrench roll like yours.IMG_3643.jpegIMG_0613.jpeg

Seems about right. Dad was in the navy from 1953 to 1956. He probably bought them in 56 or 57, then.
