I'm with this diagnosis too.

The other option is a trip across the pond, but that's not a sin. I hope. 🙄
I like your option a lot more! Fingers crossed!

Btw, if this is the case , why does Grizz associate a trip across the pond with cocaine :D ? Is he trying to imply that we are all high on something:D?

But then again , if we see a Grizzly roaming around southern US, we might be high. :D

I am afraid even to guess, but I have a feeling another orphan has found its way into your garage !

Even though your intentions are good, your sins are too many to be forgiven :D !

My intentions are not good.

My judgement is bad

My outcomes bit me in the ***

I'm with this diagnosis too.

The other option is a trip across the pond, but that's not a sin. I hope. 🙄

I was just trying to create a Tarrantino-like picture.

Drugs, money, new car keys (some/most of which don’t work) all point at bad judgement.

And thays not even you guys judging me.

But if you look at that graph of how many are left on the road in England - ONE and how many are registered as off the road on Mud Island - TWENTY

Then you have to think twice about judging me. 😂😂😂

I like your option a lot more! Fingers crossed!

Btw, if this is the case , why does Grizz associate a trip across the pond with cocaine :D ? Is he trying to imply that we are all high on something:D?

This is my status now.

Out of sync preview.

You guys tell me about my judgement

Time for all those who are on this journey, to show their intent.

You need to open these photos and read the story.

If you don’t, please don’t come back in a few weeks asking what happened, how, where , why, whatever

So I was on the right track! Yet the right track in this case might be the wrong track :D !

You have heard of information overload which can cause decision paralysis (paralysis by an Analysis), I am hoping you don’t end-up with project overload and then project paralysis 🤞😀!

Best of luck

Ps
Might be a lot of work and pain for you but should be fun for us ;)!

What did you do?!?!?

The truth may set you free but for the rest of us, not so much.

I didn’t think I have a reply to this.

But if you read the text in the photos……

The truth is out there.

Dirty hands and a pile of removed Bondo Hmmm 🤔🤔

Out of sync on this threads story.

But rest assured, the surprises keep coming.

I am having second thoughts and of course the horse has long since bolted.

Oh boy............... another project.

Unfortunately. 😳

Looks like a new project on the horizon?
You never stop wish I had the energy

I am a spectacular procrastinator with no impulse control.

Or something like that.

I will explain about unscratched itches later.

Remember that survival graph I posted ?

Look again.

This is one of the 20 legally registered survivors.

There is one actively registered on the road

So I was on the right track! Yet the right track in this case might be the wrong track :D !

;)!

Thank you as always for your posts that are well thought through like @Bob Heine and a few others on here.

It is the first time I have read and understood the paralysis quote.

And of course the red highlighted section…….

FACT.

Like this? Seems to be a few variants…
IMG_7018.jpeg

Correct.

A variation of this.

It’s an early one with SIGNIFICANT weight loss. Its a Series 1 or Mk1

More than I had realised when I agreed to buy it and get it delivered, sight unseen.

Life ehhh ??

Looking forward to seeing the Grizz makeover that you do to it.
So which one has to go when this one arrives?
Warren

According to the rules….

SERIOUSLY

TWO SHOULD GO. (Plus two)

Rules as defined by management (Me unfortunately)

1.) Only ONE (1) Project build
2.) Only ONE (1) Daily driver
3.) Only ONE (1) Toy driver

That translates into THREE (3) Ownership documents

Current status- FIVE (5) V5c Ownership documents (plus two)

And while we are in the confessional:

Remember the 300cc Kawasaki KLF 4x4 Quad we got running last year?
And the Aprilia Leonardo 300cc Scooter we got running last year?

They are both still here.

I don’t think I ever declared their top secret purpose, did I ??

Unfortunately they count as well for real estate occupancy, and due to the arrival of the CUBE they have become surplus before they met their intended fate.

So I have given the 4x4 Kawasaki Quad to Craig on condition he collects it ASAP and takes it the 410 mile round trip back to Shropshire . To which he agreed.

The Aprilia Leonardo 300 was recommissioned if you remember, and ridden by Stuart and I before being stored without the plastics that I had removed.
This will be reassembled and sold to make space. If someone needs to buy it as it stands, unassembled…… send a message for tyre kicking.

So…….. The rules have been bent, buckled, broken. Badly.

Current Envisioned Status:

1.) 2005 Renault Scenic 50-60 mpg 1.5 diesel daily
2.) 1966 C10 Bare Metal Restoration
3.) Toy driver no 1 - 1990 Astro panelvan
4.) Toy driver no 2 - 1992 Oldsmobile 88
5.) 1999 Skoda Cube Rare Rustbucket Resto-Rescue
6.) Kawasaki 4x4 Quad - Given to Craig
7.) Aprilia Leonardo 300cc Scooter - Selling.

Do I got problems Mister ??

Like many things in life, your situation is a bit like a double edged sword which cuts both ways!

On one hand, probably from perspective of many of us who have a better half who might rein in our ambitious appetite for projects 😀, you are in an enviable position.

On the other hand you are also in an unenviable position that you don’t have a better half to rein in your ambitious appetite for projects 😀.

So you, personally have to rein in your appetite! This obviously requires more self control as not to acquire more projects at the same time as well as to thin the herd as they get completed.

As for the multitude of current unfinished project at hand, my two cents is to handle and complete the low hanging fruits first, such as the quicker or the nearly finished projects. This way there are fewer distractions to tackle the bigger projects. In this way one can also have a sense of accomplishment too!
YMMV!

On the other hand there is a certain philosophy I am , truth be told , oftentimes guilty of :
"too much is never enough"
add to this :
"You only live once"
.... and therein lies the problem. The problem is : Is there actually a problem ? 🤷 :)
I'll let you guys know when I know the answer to this ! A friend of mine recently told me that it was "42", but he was never good at mathematics ;)

For those who take their time.

More text to read.

Exchanging messages with the seller.

Proceeding to agreeing to buy a car, sight unseen.

Not the first or second time that I have done this.

Caveat Emptor !!!

So we get back to photos that only take a moment to look at.

I did that of course.

These were the photos posted by the seller in his ad.

And based on what I could see, I decided to message him, as per my previously posted screenshots.

Did I mention sight unseen and buyer beware yet?

I liked what I saw in the photos. Had I actually gone and looked an investigated in person, it might have turned out quite differently. But I didn’t go look. So my problem ehhh. Until I got it here and was crawling around, looking at what the photos did not show.

Advertisement photos.

And two ends of the wishful thinking spectrum.

Well, what can I say ? "Enjoy your new car you'll love it to... err.... in ? ... pieces " !
Mate , just another small for Grizz project, it will be super mint in a short while !!!!!! :)

Still no regret

NOW FOR SOME CONTEXT

About 10-15 years ago, I was going to buy a Skoda pickup (one of these minus the box) on my way back from Oxford where I had been working, I detoured and stopped at the sellers workshop, to be met by the truck, but with a mangled front fender covered in still wet blood and fur. BAMBI 😢 it had happened hours before, on his way to work
And so that put that dream to sleep
Fast Forward many years…….. Procrastination and Impulsivity meet each other in the middle and I agree to buy a Skoda pickup
Well, what can I say ? "Enjoy your new car you'll love it to... err.... in ? ... pieces " !

And a few more of it where it was stood the last 9 years

“Barn find”

The seller’s photos and then your photos remind me of a carton strip that I once saw in early 90s.

A young ******* couple are checking the ads in some kind of swingers magazine which also includes photos of each couple in the ad. The wife says, this guy and his wife look very hot! The husband stares at the photo for few seconds and says, but the calendar behind them on the wall says Aug 1960 😀!

I guess you did not see the calendar 😀!

But seriously, if it is not possible to see the car in person, in this age of easy video meetings, it might be a good idea to arrange a video meeting. Say using the free Google meet from your laptop (if you don’t want to share your phone number) ! And ask the seller do a 360 walk around the car as well as show the engine and car’s interior etc. Just my two cents!

All valid points.

All fallible unfortunately. DAMHIK.

I had a video of the Astro and yet on collection I discovered things that needed attention.

It will get worse before it gets better.

I was chatting with @loserone a few days ago.

Long story short, I have a load of work ahead of me to make it good.

Good enough that I would let a buyers dayghter drive it 700 mules North.

Life ehhhh.

With the same token, one could miss somethings even during an in personal inspection! The point is that the more due diligence one does , the less the likelihood of missing something.

As for having a video, to me, that is slightly better than the photos! To start with was this video shot the same year the said calendar above was printed 😀? Does it show what I want to see or the seller wants me to see?

I prefer a live interactive session, in which I am in control and can ask show me such and such. Again as always. this is my two cents of advice. Something that works for me does no necessarily work for someone else.

So the van got collected.

£220.00 delivery fee for 89 miles.

Drivers flatbed blew a turbo 15 miles from here.

An hour later he drove the Škoda onto my yard. Kudos to him.

My lodger Michael was on hand and also proved to be a very capable camera man.

So a walk around video recorded.

VIDEO:

More details to come in the next video when I start cleaning it all up.

Please like and subscribe if you can be bothered

I need you to

Morning Warren

Thank you.

The next video is actually edited and uploaded.

It actually started at 63 minutes and 2.5 hours of editing brought it to 26.43 minutes.

Certain I am wasting a load of time but I only have my iPhone to edit on.

No laptop here.

But I have also once again catered to the majority by editing the first video to two minutes.

For those who only have the attention span of a three day old piglet……

Short version of delivery.
