Do I have a set from 7/16" to 3/4", or a collection?
Both! Nice find.
I guess this is where Pennens goes?
We don't have a dedicated Penens thread. Penens, Fleet, and Challenger are all over the place. But you really have a few all of the above no wrong multiple choice options with those combo wrenches. Despite the 'CHICAGO' marking, alluding to the old Cragin/Bog outfit Plomb acquired and re-organized as Penens (HQ in Los Angeles, by the way), they were made with former J.P. Danielson dies, including the date codes, and, as I have said often before, I wouldn't be surprised if they were made (for Penens) in the old J.P. Danielson plant in Jamestown, N.Y., which Plomb also owned. I have a complete DOE wrench set in a Fleet holder and a few combo wrench orphans.

Picked up this 4" 704S that was rusted and seized. After working it with a screwdriver break it free and cleaning it up it doesn't look half bad and works like a charm!

Also picked up a 1210 pebble with a bonus 1125

A couple of recent Plomb arrivals. First a stubby 1-3/4” blade 9752 wood handle screwdriver that I am considering adding to my Plomb based GMTK. The FSN would be 41-S-1063.IMG_7778.jpeg
IMG_7779.jpegIMG_7780.jpeg
IMG_0174.jpegAnother eBay pickup was this 1/4” 8 point chrome plated socket.IMG_7793.jpegIMG_7794.jpeg

Outsourced? Like utica or?
Possibly. I am not up on the pliers contracts. I know that Plomb outsourced adjustables starting in circa 1939 from Utica until the acquisition of JP Danielson. Plomb had pliers dating back to their catalogs in the 1920s if I recall but not sure they produced them or someone else.

Yup I have no 20s plomb pliers, I know utica then Danielson. Those are pretty sweet I have some early battery terminal pliers and a few name knurls but have been curious about the early pliers.

I noticed that even though they had the same size box ends, the P&C WF-89 and the N89 were slightly different lengths. Definitely not identical.

In my experience, the P&C N-series DBE wrenches are much beefier than the equivalent commercial sizes. I suspect that anything else in a N-series would be just as stout. I, too, suspect that the N meant Navy.

^ The 3202 Indestro originally was a 16-tooth mechanism.

But I think if you go back about 10 or 15 years, you'll find the Lane ratchet had an even coarser mechanism.

Here’s an odd piece I saw on Ebay that jumped out at me.

A universal T handle wrench. 1/2”, # P12. Looks like maybe a 1929 date stamp.

18-1/2” overall length with an 8” handle. I don’t see it in the available catalogs, only shorter versions with different part numbers.

The old round O LA stuff is my favorite. A single 1/2” drive 5/8” universal socket was a huge surprise in the Craftsman =V= set I grabbed last weekend.

Different length and part number than seen here in the 1929 catalog.

Jealous of that one! I uploaded pictures to my 1930 10-A Plomb Catalog. For some reason it doesn't show up on Google search. Here is a link. Page 7.

Been pretty distracted as of late working on/ fixing up a late model jeep to sell so haven’t been doing much collecting/ estate sale attending. I did hit up the local PIR swap meet and found these 2 beauties!

4” adjustable for $2. Going to clean it up

14” long puller arms for $10

Nice! The 4" appears to be the so called diamond contract one from what I can see. I have not seen puller arms that long. Are they stamped with Plomb and a part number?

Awesome! Thanks R. I would love to find the 1/2” drive below it. It looks like Plomb was T handle crazy at that time.

I agree. I only have the DT listed on the previous page for fixed tee handles. They are very hard to come by. Nice pick up.
