Physical Therapyyes. find me a building and a floor. lol.
Very nice! We have been referencing the SW assembly model we built to make sure we had everything correct (there are a few things that we converted from step files, as they weren't in sldprt format)
One note of feedback from my students was a request to "re-order" the plates so it matched the PDF instructions. Instead of L/R back to back for the same part, listing Wing/Wheel/Storage/Handle for one side, then the other side (matching PDF). If you could also add "numbering" to the plate names to match (numbered by instruction step), that would be helpful as well.
Interesting thread. Overall, what’s the realistic time to print a chair, and the hard dollar cost? I guess that would be filament and purchased hardware.
If you get a 0.6mm nozzle and good Petg, you can do it in 250ish hrs of print time. Most of the plates are in the 7-9 hr range. If one wished to print a chair for this undertaking, what turnaround time are you realistically expecting? I don't run my printer 24/7 because I just don't feel the need to print trinkets for myself, but this is a very worthy cause. I've got a P1S with AMS 2 Pro on top.
Wow, that's a pretty busy printer, but sounds doable if I double up on my days off. I just didn't want to commit to something that I'd be hard pressed to finish in a reasonable amount of time (6 weeks seems doable as I print stuff for myself/kids for fun and use as well). What brands are considered "good"? I've bought SUNLU and Bambu branded PETG. SUNLU works nicely, but I know @jeepxj has filament as well.If you get a 0.6mm nozzle and good Petg, you can do it in 250ish hrs of print time. Most of the plates are in the 7-9 hr range.
With one printer and two plates a day, you'd be looking at about 2 weeks
My approach has been to make chairs and then find homes. There are enough kids looking for them around me, plus all the physical therapists that would love to get their hands on oneWow, that's a pretty busy printer, but sounds doable if I double up on my days off.
