Handed off my HF and a few others I was not keeping to few people near me. I was looking at thumbwheel driver sets for awhile.. probably being to picky, then saw this 4815 3/8” drive thumbwheel model, and thought that would be useful as hell, so she became most recent addition.

I found this little 9mm V-gullet combo wrench.....another Trophy Shot from my Photo Safari

It's unfortunate that the seller did not have more of these Cool Little Metric wrenches
I would have bought them....then tried to complete the set

Well, maybe it's good that it didn't happen......:ROFLMAO:
I've got too many sets that I am trying to complete

Recently finished up my Powr-Kraft 4880 series 3/4” drive socket set. I have the Thorsen 4877 model number ratchet.
IMG_8059.jpegIMG_8060.jpeg

I saw another 4877 ratchet online that seemed to indicate it was longer, and sort of assumed it was a typo, but happy I was wrong.
+Wright made 4877.

Found a really cool Powr Kraft hammer today
The Seller was trying to push a vintage drill on me...

Buy the drill and I'll give you the hammer!

I don't need another drill nor do I WANT another drill! :ROFLMAO:
I don't need this hammer either, but I'll take it anyway :ROFLMAO:

Forgot the 12in bandsaw. Duro-made 1930's wood bandsaw running beautifully as a metal-cutting saw with a speed reducer.

That's a fun comparison. The top one has an impressive number of blade length options.

I like the EASY STARTING TEETH on the MMilford REZISTOR blade.

Went to an estate sale yesterday in eastern TN. I got there about 20 minutes early but already a line of folks. Fortunately most folks were after the household items and I sped down to the garage. There was about 10 of us scrambling around down there. I failed to bring a box or bag with me and spotted an older toolbox for $10 so snatched it up. Found the socket bins and started rifling through them, found a few PowrKraft and then some gems hiding underneath A LOT of Craftsman stuff. Filled up the toolbox with goodies, paid, headed home. Grabbed the toolbox and then noticed the writing on the box...yay! I have a newer style Montgomery Ward toolbox with a lot of PowrKraft, Ward Master...and now I have a Ward Master Quality. After reviewing all pages in this thread don't see another box like this one.1000019950.jpg1000019953.jpg

^ That's Thorsen's 89J - one of the very few patents they were issued was for that "ejector" action on that beast. Wasn't aware there was a Powr Kraft version.
Psst.. I spotted another one on auction. I have not seen it in person, and I do not know the seller…

I’d hit save on it, because it’s just a buck or two pricey.. no fighting!.. and if any quarrels should arise, it will be settled by duel at sunrise. 🌅 good luck.

Here's one from left field (actually a flea market). Alloy Artifacts mentions two companies using the name "Lakeside": Ward's and Lakeside Forge. My guess is that this Button pattern plier is from Lakeside Forge. Looks very early 1900s to me.
It doesn't have the "keystone" logo that AA associates with Lakeside Forge, however.
There are a couple of similar ones on eBay with the script logo, but no new info in the descriptions.
Can anyone connect this one to the Ward's Lakeside line?

Lakeside / Lakeside Forge, Erie, PA / http://alloy-artifacts.org/lakeside-forge-company.html / https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/lakeside-forge-co.324514/ /

Lakeside Forge (Erie PA) LOGO.jpg
* Note that Lakeside Forge of Erie, PA also had an alternate logo - see image below. More often than not, however, you will see the "L" inside the keystone.

Montgomery Ward's "Lakeside" is generally expressed in a cursive script. (additional image below)
Many thanks, four.cycle - I guess this one is part of the Montgomery Ward family after all.

Question.

I've got a Wards Master 1/4 drive set that I've filled with Wards Master stuff. Then I've got an older style "Wards Master Quality" box (see post #595). I've seen Ward Master, Wards Master, Wards Mast'r but I've not seen anything (sockets, drivers...) specific to Wards Master Quality in the 1/4 drive stuff. Am I to assume this box would just have the Duro made Wards Master stuff?

Bought this tombstone box off Ebay the other day. I see other tombstone boxes within this thread's pages and some of the catalogs and they appeared mostly with 1/2" drive stuff. Fortunately this box still has a remaining sticker on top stating its a 76 pc multi-drive set. Judging by the ID plate I'd say this might be 80s or 90s? Anybody with a catalog or ad picture for contents of a 76 pc set please hook me up!1000021360.jpg1000021361.jpg1000021362.jpg

📚 This specific logo was used from 5/1968 to 6/1982 and still may be present in catalogs post ‘82. Best I can narrow off the cuff, for research.

Digging a little further I found this 75 piece set in the 1984 catalog. I could be convinced this 75 pieces plus 1 box would equal 76 pieces as well.

And these images of the 1982 catalog sure seem like its the right size box, not the right amount of pieces:
