Definition of woodworking:
Buy top quality wood.
Plan the project down to the 1/32"
Measure the pieces, and cut to exact
sweep up the saw dust
go sit down and have a beer
Go back to the store and buy new top-quality wood
and start all over because you measured wrong!
It's funny, but I studied trim carpentry under some pretty crusty old souls who taught me the trick to good trim carpentry was "Whenever possible, don't measure, mark in place. When you can't mark in place, use a story pole." Words to live by. Bonus: it's faster, too.

As I once had to inform a friend when he was showing off his homeowner carpentry skills "There's no trim for the trim."

What is woodworking? Well, it’s the process of taking a board and cutting it up into smaller pieces and then putting them back together again. Easy, right? Anyone can do it.

Thank you for the woodworking forum. GJ is the preeminent "hands on" forum on the internet. Tapping into this GJ talent pool to expand into the world of woodworking is a great addition. (as evidenced by the fabulous projects that have already been shared)

Glad to see this here. I rarely do any engine work these days, the older I get the less patience I have to do it. But I do a lot more woodworking than I do anything with engines. So I haven't been here as much as I use to. I will have to drop in more and post more now.

OK, I will jump in....wood-working you say!
Let's see what all you tool hoarders can do to a piece of wood?
I am not a Carpenter, or a mechanic.
So with that said...
The table is of Knotty Alder mounted on an old cast iron lathe base. The stand alone and the built-in are bathroom vanity's for the wife.
Thank you for this space!
