Well, here they are, the final bits of HJE Day 2025.
Hopefully you were the last waiting on an order to be fulfilled. Being October 1st, I will be unsticking this thread but it will still be open until the 2026 HJE thread opens after the first of the year.

Thanks to Jori, his family and all involved.

Dont get all warm and fuzzy about Henkel…their lifetime warranty is very limited. My boning knife broke in the middle of the tang and its not covered by warranty. They claim it broke due to age and is considered normal wear and tear. The first pic shows how the two pieces look put together,,not even a chip in the handle at the break
They offered me a 15% coupon for being such a valued customer…

So did you buy another Henkel to replace it?

You should have read the fine print..... "Using this product voids the warranty".

Off hand, breaking where it did feels like a production defect... if you are not batoning or similar, but even that I would expect the blade to break, not the tang or handle.

Did you buy it from HJE? What did I miss. I love my Henkels, but they are from the early 70’s. How did that break?

No idea how it broke. Wife was peeling meat off moose bones and it split apart
I’ll never buy Henkel based on them considering a tang breaking is not covered by warranty.
I have never had a tang break, it’s ridiculous
I’ll repair it later

Looks like it might be hydrogen embrittlement, do you run it through dishwasher?
