Made it home, everything went well. I got to meet a couple of grandkids that I had not got to meet yet. I haven't been back there for 17 years. Kristy had deep vein thrombosis in her legs, a blood clot broke loose in her leg and traveled to her heart, she had a heart attack in her sleep. She was 46 and left behind six children, the youngest is 10 and autistic, her 23yr old aunt will take her as she has the best rapport with her, being autistic thats important.

Kristy, and her babies, the proverbial momma!

Kristy's kids,
Danica, Jessie, Jennica, Christopher, Eric, and Rebecca.
Rebecca just earned her dental hygienist license last week.
I have seven more between my other two kids.

And there is a bunch of great grand kids, I never got a good count! Lol.

Im proud of everyone of them for so many things.
Thank all of you for your kind words.

I caught a (Yankee bug) while I was up north and wound up in the clinic last Sunday, I've been in the house until yesterday, but the weather was nice so Pat and I went out and did a little yard work. The grass needed mowing before I left so it was laying over it was so long, so I just got out my small mower and did the whole yard with it, its easier and slower than my zero- turn. I need to mow outside the fence today, I just ran out of energy.

I did have a little storm damage to pick up first.

Its good to have a wooded area to hide stuff.

Lots of stuff!

I dont feel good yet, but I got out and tried to be productive for a bit.
20260321_155427.jpg
I finished the saw table, I ran a d/a sander over it after I used the flap wheel. Then I put a heavy coat of Mothers carnuba wax on it to seal it.
20260321_155439.jpg
Pat has been asking for a new burn barrel, so I cut the lid off of the old well tank.
20260321_155444.jpg
I welded some rebar into the hole in the bottom and cut three more air holes.
20260321_134205.jpg
Then I stared at the Mule for a while, I never did touch it, just looked. I cleaned up the table and put some tools away, and quit.
Knox and Junior are supposed to be here tomorrow!

Worked on Knox's truck today.
20251011_154720.jpg
His truck was missing a bunch of stuff under the hood, so We took the parts he needed off of my parts truck, the fan shroud had to be fit to his radiator, but it fit, the a/c compressor and brackets all fit.
20260322_135842.jpg
I was able to start on the headliner. I came up with this as a solution for mounting the buttons.
20260322_135858.jpg
I needed something to replace the primer with that would hold the twine.
So I took the pin out of a pop rivet and cross drilled a hole in the end. It popped right into the 12 ga. brass.
20260322_155948.jpg
I started in the middle of the headliner and will work my way out to the edges. I sent all of the parts home with them, they will drill and clean the rivets, and dress the shell brass. Next weekend we will do some more.
I think its going to be ok as is, it was supposed to be sewn directly to the 1" foam but the lady at the sewing shop changed my plans without asking me. It would have had less of a quilted look and more of a diamond pleat had she followed my instructions! Oh well! Thats on Junior now!
I ran out of energy and called it quits for the day.

I got to work on Knox's truck today. They pulled the seats out and prepped the floor with sound mat.
Someone gave Junior a roll of automotive carpet, so I measured the hump and cut and sewed the carpet to fit. Pics coming!
20250922_163501.jpg
I put two big darts in the front corners of the hump, it fit perfectly. So we put a cover over the carpet and stacked bricks on it. Its parked in the sun until next weekend, this will finish molding it to the floor.
20260329_195007.jpg
We were short 30 silver buttons. Aka aluminum gun club target loads, the cheap stuff. So we went out back and cranked off 30 more volunteers!
20260329_185501.jpg
I got around 100 buttons installed today, this is the headliner for his truck, it is his design, what he wanted. So I made it happen.
20260329_150735.jpg
The fabric is a light denim, it was impossible to push the needle through, so I used an ice pick to pilot a hole.
20260329_154508.jpg
They came out nice, Knox is thrilled.
I guess I got volunteered to haul a load of furniture to Athens tomorrow, there is a single Mom with two boys, that just got an apartment, they are all three sleeping on the floor. We put out the call and got a bunch of stuff for them. More to come!

I got started on the mini bike today.
If Im not mistaken, Its a 1970, Im sure its a Yellowjacket, I still have the clutch cover and it has the Yellowjacket logo on it. I belive Sears sold them.
20260401_181858.jpg
I took some measurements before it goes to sandblast, then the boys are going to powder coat it back to the stock yellow.
20260401_182513.jpg
The tires are an odd size, availability is limited.
20260401_174027.jpg
I have one of Pats old mini skirts, to recover the seat with.
20260401_174020.jpg
Im hoping that the stock Tecumseh motor will run, I'd like to keep it kind of stock, if I can.
Dalton came over today and is washing all of my metal roofs, they are supposed to be green, but they are more black from polution, and yellow from the pine pollen.

I had to go back to the Dr. today, had a couple of tests. After, we went to several stores, shopping for garden plants, we got a bunch.
I finished tearing down the mini bike after I got back home.
20260402_182243.jpg
It didnt submit easily.
20260402_180208.jpg
The bolt in the neck was frozen,
only for a minute!
20260402_174042.jpg
Checked for spark, there was none. I took the flywheel off and looked inside!
20260402_174104.jpg
The points are burnt, the capacitor is very rusty, and the felt oiler was bone dry. You dont see stuff like this anymore!
20260402_174343.jpg
And the air filter was toast! So I got to order some parts.
Dalton had an appointment today so he didnt come today, he should be back tomorrow, Pat and I are going to plant the garden tomorrow also.

That brings back memories. Reminds me I should check under the flywheel in my tiller motor. (Also a Tecumseh.)

Prospector, Im really hoping I can get it running, there getting rare, I have never worked on one, but everyone says they are hard to set up.
20260402_174104.jpg
I have been reading up on them, the points housing is adjustable to set the coil gap to the flywheel, then you set your point gap to .020, looks simple enough. I guess we will see!
20260403_121134.jpg
Dalton came back today, he is washing the **** off of my roofs
20260403_121122.jpg
Pat and I worked on the garden,
20260403_121119.jpg
I bought a tiny roto tiller and it works great,
20260403_121113.jpg
We got all of the beds prepped, and everything planted, people kept stopping by and calling on the phone and I got distracted and didnt get any after pics!
20260403_192429.jpg
Junior and Knox came over and wanted to work on the truck, they kept asking questions, so I finally just went to the shop and helped them.
20260403_192453.jpg
Got all of the carpet in and got the seats and console installed.
20260401_162422.jpg
Dalton's grandfather had this bed cover in his back yard and wanted it gone so Dalton called me and we went and got it yesterday. We surprised Knox with it today. He said he definatly wanted to keep it!
20260401_162404.jpg
It looks really good to me also.

Everything we learned about points back in the day will serve you well. I imagine you won't have much difficulty.

Truck is looking really good.
