Black Friday, yes a day that will live in infamy. I myself will not camp out and then run over my fellow man for a $15 **** laptop. My wife and I have an Idea of big ticket items we need and look up the deals online. This year we needed a new TV for the living room. Our old one of fifteen years finally pooped out. We got a smoking deal.

Found something on Cyber Monday that I actually use and is a pretty decent deal.

I don't care for modern safety glasses. They typically look like something Brian Bosworth would have worn in 1985 and they ALWAYS scratch on the first day. Within a month, my cheap *** Home Depot specials are usually pretty cooked.

I bought a pair of Stoggles about three years ago and they still work and look fine. They are more expensive... of course... but I think they are cheaper in the long run if you don't lose em...

20% off today.

A few more I found after writing all this nonsense:

Adam's tire dressing. I use this pretty regularly as I tend to like Adam's... Works well without being too glossy and slimy. Don't know if this is a Black Friday deal or not though. I've seen it cheaper, but this price is decent.

Adam's Wheel & Tire Cleaner Combo. Again, I use this stuff. It's great.

Irwin Quick Grips. Smoking deal. Is this right? 93% off?

Wilton 6.5" Vise. Seems like a pretty solid deal?

Wilton Tradesman. These are great. Better vice for more money.

Arcan aluminum jack. I have this... It's not my favorite jack in the shop, but works well for road-trips as it breaks down small and it's light. $200 is good...

Jet 1/2 ton hoist. 70% off if you need one...
This Arcan Jack looks very similar to what Harbor Freight sells, which sells for less. I just worry about durability.

It's the exact same jack... and I worry about the durability of anything HF even thinks about selling. But, I use this as roadtrip jack and not as my everyday shop jack.

Every one here should do this.

I added a similar Amazon affiliate atomic industries tag link to my task bar. 100% of my amazon purchases go thru this link. It's my small way for helping out the forum. I even messaged Ryan over a year ago when I was about to make a large grill purchase as I wanted him to get the commission.
How do you add this link to the task bar ? I get a lot from Amazon

I have this link on my task bar. It takes you to a Master lock search item. From there, I just search what I want. Maybe I am naive in thinking that Atomic Industries then gets all the referrals.

Whenever I am on another site and see an item I like, I copy the description (not URL), and paste it into the Amazon search from the task bar link. :dunno:

There are no such things as deals - everything is overpriced anyways - Amazon reverted to "original" pricing and slashed pricing on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Green Monday; the prices fluctuate algorithmically. The only things on sales are things that handymen don't need. Flock over to Slickdeals.net (co-sponsored by many Chinese sellers) and all you see is **** sold by Chinese sellers through Amazon's Marketplace and also lots of Lube (not intended for tool maintenance, but for other activities). If you have a fetish for Temu, Amazon's version of Temu is virtually the same - don't give your personal info away or else you will get called about extending your car's warranty even if you have a Smart Car or a Tesla. Cut the impulse buying because its not the economy that is going to be hurt, you are.

I did some black friday amazon shopping - got myself 12 Sensodyne toothpaste tubes, 32 oral b toothbrushes, 20l of 10w40 engine oil, 12 bottles of shampoo for my SO and 5 high end osram led bulbs.

Savings per item were minimal but overall adds up to a bit.

You can get low prices all thorughout the year, but they're generally low around black friday. I figured I might as well stack up, pay a bit less but up front and stop bothering with consumables for the rest of the year or two.

Who's paying the interest for the things purchased not being put in immediate use?

What interest is actually involved in storing some toothbrushes?

Guess you could keep it in a high yield savings account and earn 14 cents over the next year instead
I'd agree... Having a little inventory on hand is like a safe guard against running out when you need it...I would highly recommend having soi spare tooth brushes and paste on hand rather than running out.

It's also hedging a bet against increasing prices. ... The flip side of interest.

Ryan, I appreciate your efforts to minimize ad disruptions on this site, but you do need to make this wonderful hobby pay it's own way.
I would be interested to know which advertisers were offended by the mostly benign and decidedly neutral content on this site?
You and the mods have done a great job keeping it that way, perhaps your advertisers should be compelled to do the same?

I just want to say that another forum I have spent literally hundreds of hours of my life on, made great friends, learned tons on, was literally part of my life will shortly go silent and disappear from the web due to not being able to generate enough revenue to keep it alive. If purchasing stuff I need anyway via some affiliate links will keep the lights on I am all for it.

Can anyone recommend a good .9mm mechanical pencil? I have Staedtler and Pentel Graphgear in .5 and .7 that are great in my opinion. I am not wanting to spend a huge sum of money but is there anything else that is pretty good for a good .9mm shop pencil?

I like the Pentel Twist-Erase III, .9mm is my preferred mechanical pencil.

Wouldn't mind ordering a shirt or some other cool "merch" in support of this site.
