I looked into this and went as far to get a quote from local Cat dealer. The angle head wrenches were approximately $30 less a set than Snap-On. The ratchets that Cat sells are also the older technology and not the Dual 80.
I'm surprised the angle wrench sets were only $30 less for you, my "local" CAT dealer website shows prices $250-$350 less than Snap-On's website depending on large vs. small set. You are right about the ratchets, they're actually Williams ratchets which use the 36-tooth design. One ratchet (468-5748) on CAT's site is indeed a Snap-On branded Dual 80 but for whatever reason they charge more than Snap-On does for the same ratchet.

Let me see if I still have the quote. I did it right after I saw the post about it. It was all online, so maybe actually going there may get a different price. My quote came from Foley Equip. in Piscataway, NJ which is the closet dealer to me.

I found my post on the previous page. I couldn't find the actual quote from Foley, but these were the prices on the angle head wrenches from them: I just got a quote from local CAT. SAE set is $422 and Metric set is $559.

If your dealer is cheaper, please post because they all seem to ship.

I'm not seeing any metric set from my dealer (Cleveland Bros.) on their site. I have heard that dealers sometimes do have different prices but I'm surprised to see them this far apart.

PN 233-1636 (Large 7 pc. Angle Wrench Set 13/16-1 1/4) is $207.79.
PN 233-1635 (Angle Wrench Set 3/8-3/4) is $108.26.

Cat recently updated their parts site (which includes tools), so you can price shop different dealers online. You may need to create an account.

Yes. I had to create an account in order to get the price and put it in my cart. Quite honestly, I found their site to be pretty difficult to search for tools.

Thank you for this. I just entered the part number in my account and it came up at $111.00. There is no picture or description. Is this set confirmed to be US made by Snap On? The other kit that I got the quote for said specifically US made right on the wrenches.

Does anyone know if these ratcheting end wrenches are in indeed Snap On? Here is the part # 248-8810
The angle wrenches are definitely Snap-on, if you look up that PN on Google Images you'll see pics of the set which are marked USA and identical to SO except for the CAT logo.

The ratcheting wrenches are technically Williams I think, but just from looking at them it seems like they're using Snap-on's old ratcheting wrench design.

Like $35 cheaper if I'm not mistaken--and occasionally found for half the Snap-On equivalent.

I made the mistake of ordering mine through the local Applied branch instead of Zoro--back in February. They were supposed to call when it showed up, but haven't yet. I suppose I should call them myself, but they did say lead times were nuts. Most of my current ratcheting screwdrivers are ****. +
I've got two Snap On and one Williams T handle. Both are great. Not sure it's worth the extra cost, but the knurled shaft of the Snap On are a nice touch. Williams does not have that.

I ordered the Williams via an Amazon retailer.

Pretty sure they're blue point not Williams.

I don't see a chrome 1/4" shallow set, but the individual sockets are available in 12pt and the parts numbers range from 9S-1711 to 9S-1719 for 3/16" to 1/2". There is a 6 point deep 1/4" SAE set which is 213-9965.

This stickied thread should have been replaced by the thread that superseded it years ago.

Who knows?
Does anyone know who makes this for Matco? The sockets are a little shorter than comparable sets and can be turned with a wrench.

@MrSubaru1387 did a video a while back, stating Laser Tools and Wurth Tools had identical versions, but I can't find either currently available for sale (at least in USA). I believe at this point it's a Matco exclusive.

That sure looks like a proprietary design. Did they work great in both positions? Is the slide to lock in the socket in both? Or to switch between?
