Ok, ok, you can post your cat I suppose but hopefully your garage mascot isn't a bird, a ferret, a tarantula or a monkey. Ok, I guess a monkey WOULD be pretty cool.

Meet "Sooner" my 6 year old Yellow Lab. He's actually closer to white. He's unusually large for the breed...about 102 lbs and not really overweight. He's pure bred too, though I am no pure bred snob. Mutts are the best dogs in the world I think.

If I know and like you, Sooner is gentle as a lamb. If I DON'T know you...like the mail man, UPS guy, or a salesman? He's going to have a piece of you unless I tell him, "No"...then he's a door mat again.

Let's see your best friend (hopefully)

Oh man, very sorry to hear about the loss of Hoover. I can fully relate; I lost my best friend of 14 years, Dudley last year too. I held "Duds" in my hands at 6 weeks old and I was stroking and talking to him to his last moment. He was my never-to-be-forgotten best friend and I hope to see him again at the end of MY days.

Some NICE looking pooches here guys. Keep 'em coming. I'm partial to the big dogs because...well, I've got one.

Sarah looks like she's saying, "I'd EAT you but FRANKLY Dah-ling....I'm for too important to be bothered..."

(AndThor in the doorway is saying, "Yeah well she may not bother but I WILL tear your *** up!")

Dan that's a mighty beautiful dog... I've been thinking of getting a male English yellow to replace my black female that died a couple of years ago. But I don't miss the shedding of all things... my GF bought a yorkie when she moved in with me and he's turned out to be one of the most loving and personable dogs I've ever had. I think we got lucky because her parents and grandparents both have yorkies and they're annoying little shits vs. ours who's a nice little guy. I think it's becaue I did dominance training with him as a puppy... i.e. held him down for 60 seconds until he stopped squirming and got in his face 2x a day. Most people w/ these kinds of dogs don't bother trying to train them.

My old lab Picabo w/ my mom's mutt Joey...

Current buddy, David Bowie aka Bowie... he likes to come and hang out in the garage when I'm out there, but I can't work w/ the doors open b/c he'll run of and chase things.

My guard dog is ferocious. Small children should look away.

Sooner says thanks, Cobra! He's at my feet as I write this. Its a warm day in SoCal (natch) and he's riding out to visit the "Grandma Dog" (my mom) today for her 85th birthday in the back of HIS crewcab dually 4x4 - his favorite.

I think dogs reflect their owner's traits to some degree. Just lok at all these proud happy dogs on this thread. If you respond to this thread you're probably very proud and affectionate about yor dog...and they know it!

Red Dawg - looks like he's fiercely in his prime, beautiful shot of him
Jasper is so damn smart he looks like he's posing....no, he actually IS posing!
Banjo's puppy - Hilarious caption to that shot...a true killer! His name should be "Chopper":bounce:

I've got to admit I've got a WAAY soft spot for Picabo. Just take a look at this photo and my Dudley's above. They could be twins. I loved that dog so much I am embarrassed to admit it. He was the last tie to when my (now 27 and 28 year old kids) lived together with me and their mother. A reminder of happy times and it broke my heart when he died.

A shot of Dudley and Sooner that shows their resemblance to Picabo and Joey. Both owners on GarageJournal...coincidence? I don't think so!

The last couple years, Sooner would groom Dudley, lick his face, ears, eyes, and teeth. He's put his snout under Dudley's rear when he would struggle to stand. He went outside and howled the day I came home without Dudley...he knew.

Here's Flash. He's usually only in the garage when my wife kicks him out of the house. Apparently he sees himself as a dog of leisure rather than one who has to work on cars for a living.

This picture is also unusual in that he's awake. Generally he's asleep on his cushion when he's in the garage.

Here's NIKE I rescued him when he was 3 from some jackass who beat him regularly. It took 3 months before the dog would even come to me and during that time I babied the **** out of him. Now he likes his home and guards my garage!!!012-1.jpg

If he scares away a would be thief he gets a tbone of course.

The 15 pound Fury that ate my cd collection yesterday. Shes my sidekick, but stays out of the shop in the winter. As ferocious as she looks, she's deathly afraid of the heater. Beagle/Miniature Schnauzer that I rescued at 10 weeks

Here's Virgil. Happy to hang around the garage with me on nice days. Always mesmerized watching the cars go up and down on the lift.

He might look like a killer, but this is the kindest and most patient dog that I ever have owned! I hope his looks is enough to scare people off, if not he might help them to carry my stuff out of the garage! :):)
