There is no tank... So it's pretty underpowered. Only good for filling tires, etc...

That is pretty dang cool. While may not be realistic for day to day, it would be an awesome addition for a road trip.

I saw a Milwaukee compressor with one of those mounted to the side. Looked like a really nice all in one carry solution... if you don't have a Rivian
I'd love something just like this for my R1T. Amazing work. If you're not planning on commercializing your design, would you be willing to share the files you sent to Send-cut-send and PCBway so I can make one too? If you are, I'd be happy to buy them from you. Many thanks, Jim

hm... in most of my old 4x4s have built in a compressor somewhere in them, and I've never hesitated to use them because of the air hose. Maybe it's a different state of mind in older vehicles than newer ones, I don't know.

The reason I don’t use mine much is that it was a pain in the *** to put the oem air hose back in it’s fancy pouch… think sleeping bag back in its compression sack type of thing…

Not really... Dirt roads and mild trails, but nothing that anyone would consider real off roading.

Looks bolted down... Isn't it in the way now? Might run into fitment issues when using the bed for cargo. Maybe there is a way to "stealth" or recess it. Sink it into the side and have it swivel out maybe...
Also it looks like it has a hand crank for wind up. Be cool if it had a spring like the shop mounted ones, which would also lend itself more to recessing it.

I can lock or unlock it in position through the main screen on the dash... or, I can have it lock and unlock with the doors of the truck. I keep it in the bed most of the time, but when I need my full bed, I can just unlock it and throw it into the gear tunnel. It's not an issue at all.

No... just those ports in the bed. By design, they are meant to lock in this cable:
So basically, you plug one end of the cable into a port, wrap this cable around your payload, and then plug the other end of the cable into the remaining port. It's now locked and tied into the trucks alarm system and security cameras.
I have a tonneau cover, so I haven't used my cable at all... But it's a cool idea for sure.

My only other question would be: Could there be an auto-wind version? So no use of a hand crank to reel it in.

You could certainly make one... I think it would be an over-complication though. It's only 20' of hose or so... And one of the great things about this is just how small and cute it is.
Nice job in implementation. But that being said, I do not get this. Why spend so much for a tankless compressor that might be used for light blowing off or tire inflation and not much else? This seems to call for a battery powered tool that would be cheaper, portable, compact, etc. Logically that approach also seems more compatible with an electric van too.
