I think the biggest annoyance I’ve had with it is that there’s no ‘guest mode’ You’ve can’t give someone else temporary access to open/close the door. You’d have to give them credentials to your Meross account.

For things like this, I never rely on their native apps… instead pick a protocol like HomeKit and use that. Specs look pretty neat, wish it had a captive web site for setup vs an app. Its not clear if the meross cloud server plays a role continually after you pair into Apple/Google home. Those details come up if you firewall some countries off your wifi lan or dmz wifi lan.

It sent no data over the cloud while I was there and using it. So, unless there is some sort of a Cron job (highly doubtful) that it runs, I think you are good. ]]>
