Been awhile and thought some may enjoy some semi-recent work. Thanks Royce

Love the camper build Royce ! The 270 degree awning is awesome. Need some more interior shots.
The awning is made by the Bush Company, a South African company
The interior is not complete yet.
It sheeted with corrugated plastic over 1/2"bead board over 1" bead board, light and bright.
Cedar trim up next

WOW! That umbrella is DAMN COOL! wonder if i could make one for the ol Astro van.
Theres multiple how to build setups on youtube to make a 270 awning, but a solid well made unit seems to have an extra strength to it thats hard to beat. I cheated and bought an awning for my truck build that attaches to the top with suction cups so you can deploy it off either side or the back.

Not bulletproof, but it does keep the rain out and the mosquitoes at bay, mission accomplished.
Yea, I had that backwards. Cybertruck is bullet proof. Ish. Not really.

I'm a big fan of the truck camper. Bigger fan of DIY. 1+1 = 4.

Very nice work as always Royce. Had to look at it a few times to realize you were launching your yawl. Glad to see a new project. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful work - as always.

Just wondering why you would go with polystyrene instead of polyurethane for insulation? (I have some strong bias on that subject).

Also: when doing the design thing for an application where space is at an extreme premium: what were your thoughts about the open space above the truck cab? A fair bit of storage at design height or even sleeping space if you were to have gone a fair bit higher. Do you have a water supply and biffy/sewage system on board? How about heating?

Yes, we need more detail, and yes, the awning is an extremely nice accessory.

I'm OK with the 'no channels, no comm' deal, but as for the third, well that's the whole reason to have a camper - for when I wake up at 2:30 in the morning and don't want to go outside.
I may have misspoke, this has a Wrappon toilet, which takes the business and welds it in a plastic sleeve.
Very sanitary and no black tank to deal with.

Thanks Canuck, availability and expense were the main reasons for the bead board. Density, R-value and permeability weren't critical in this application. The design criteria was to be as small as possible with two adult beds and lowest possible stand up height. at some point might add some form of heat but water will be provided by 5 gal bottles. no sewage system but a wrapper toilet.

Looks great.
I was asked to build a steel version similar to this for transporting seedlings for tree planting. Slide into a standard 8' pickup bed.

Any reason to have a front to rear drip rail down the side of the camper under the awning? Minimize inflow in a good rain event?

I’ve been worried about you Royce since it’s been a long time since you posted anything.

It makes me feel better knowing you’ve just been sitting around with your feet in the air not doing ****.

lol, wow what a project. Your abilities to produce a quality product never fail to impress

Kitchen counter and shelf. I opted out of drawers and doors and will use totes.

Today was an exercise in frustration, went to town for a sheet of formica only to learn after 2 hours and 50 miles that in Fairbanks Alaska you can not buy formica without special ordering it. At the risk of sounding like every other old fart, what is the world coming to!!!!
Anyhow had to settle for 20 gauge stainless and some sapele edging and back splash

In the lower 48 we might refer to that as "First World Problems".
In your neck of the woods, that might need to be downgraded a little bit.
I'm sure it will turn out great when you are done.
