Most of us know MF made those wonderful "egg beater" hand drills, but I've discovered alot of other tools marked Millers Falls. I was surprised not to find a thread on these - maybe I overlooked it. Post up what you've got - I'd like to see 'em!

Here's a 2A drill I was given recently. The man of the house passed away, and the widow knows I like tools. So she let me have it. I did a little clean-up and touch up paint, but left alot of it as is. One bit still left in the hollow handle.

I no longer have this ruby handled hacksaw, but I've seen what the new owner has done to it. It came out nice!

I picked up the Millers Falls center punch on Saturday at a garage sale and the diamond point chisel I’ve had for a while.

Here are some vintage Millers Falls hacksaws. The last group of pictures is of a Stiletto hacksaw that I have set aside for Notlob’s Stiletto collection. As can be seen in the last two pictures the Stiletto saw is closely related to it’s Millers Falls cousin.

Millers Falls boring machine in original shipping crate, packed in wood shavings, wrapped in 1912 Chicago newspaper, with 3 original bits. This one is brand new. I unpacked it.

I saw this Millers Falls eggbeater drill press at a garage sale today.

Interesting, but not my area of collecting.

What is it with the red plastic material on alot of MF tools? Is it a trademark, or just something they picked to distinguish their tools?

Starting ~ 1950, Millers Falls used a plastic called Tenite on a large number of tools, including its so-called "Buck Rogers" tools:

I don't have much Millers Falls stuff, this is probably about it. No. 188A Auto-Drill. This push drill is actually a Goodell-Pratt design, whom Millers Falls absorbed in the 30s.

Only has 4 bits, but in decent shape, although box has seen better days.

A lot of Miller's Falls tools had red tinted lacquered wood before (and after) the red plastic. So, red handles were something they did over a long period.

Didn't know they did that red plastic on regular drivers. Blue is my color, but dang that red is sweet!

Just a few things I have that are Miller's Falls. The 2A, and hacksaw were my grandfather's. The hacksaw is engraved 'tool room' and knowing him it came out of where he worked - the Skully Signal factory in Cambridge, MA. They made 'ventilarms' more commonly know as the thing that whistles when your heating oil tank is being filled. When the oil gets to the top it whistles to let you know to stop filling! Anyways, there is one hand drill with the very cool ratcheting mechanism that was given to me by my second cousin, along with another very old one that I can't really make out the markings, but appears to be Miller's Falls? I also have my 4' level I got at a moving sale for $10! Use it almost every day on my kitchen renovation. Love these tools!393e70f724772ac282f5d262a079b1cd.jpgbf21e89e878b90a33a7285e353aaafb1.jpg842572a9278d84f5dc9c90d776bd8efc.jpg3151a5371e86bf267d0862fde16d5185.jpga0b416983d29a3cea82d2488bbbbe06c.jpg30107a03b924f003bcba7c40882821cf.jpgb1639984042122e55ff09bb7f8dddc23.jpg65515020d611f7356218d1c7501e45d2.jpg

Also a very cool video I stumbled across on YouTube. It's old factory footage with commentary from some of the workers that used to work there

I picked up this Buck Rogers era circular saw, case and user sheet/parts list in Dayton, Ohio.

This is from the free pile at a recent yard sale - a little vial with drill points for a Millers Falls push drill. The label says:

ONE SET NO. 401
NEW STYLE DRILL POINTS
Made in U.S.A. by
MILLERS FALLS CO., GREENFIELD, MASS.

I found two Miller's Falls tools in less than a week, and both were from the Buck Rogers era!

In addition to the circular saw documented above, today I found a Model 525 keyhole saw with the famous red and grey paint job in a bucket of tools at a local ReStore.e5b950f07567942c7e61ecaba2a5c087.jpga3149298bb1fa44ce8d7fd5608ee5bf6.jpgc65f50f958a06097fc49400f15d181fb.jpgb3ab08a7e3fc266213d0d86cfa0475fb.jpg

Here's another--I'm on a streak!

Millers Falls No 170 Buck Rogers-era push drill with two bits.

I disassembled, cleaned greased and reassembled the drill, and it works like a champ!5b141918486da94ad4d358b1733a33ee.jpg0deb178bbe46584c772f3492f8dbff22.jpg5c5632d3f00b9066b0503f3a24660782.jpg7896f27bc1f212a389c359d29c8c4c16.jpg
