Hey guys, we're Astro. Sometimes our sales staff will be on here to help, but usually our Product Manager Chris is trolling about on these forums instead of working so you'll often get him as well.
If you have any questions about product or warranty just drop a line right here and I will be more than happy to do whatever I can to help!

Yeah why is it so much of a hassle to get parts for my Astro Mig welder ? After a week of searching I found a company in Fla that seems to be the only place in the US that services these rebadged Italian made welders.

Mine is an Astro "Power Mig 110" and at the time I needed the trigger/valve assembly that goes in the handle and controls the gas flow as well as the wire feed. All you have to do is Google this model and you will get lots of hits from guys posting that service parts in the US are practically non existant. Going to your website and emailing the contacts at your company was no help at all. I finally found a company in Florida that carries a few parts and I believe they get them directly from the Italian company (Cebora) that makes the welder. At the moment I don't need any parts for it anymore and at least the tips are commonly available from most welding supply shops. Even locating a simple users manual for it since I bought it used, has been impossible.

Thanks. It's cool. It was a cheap, used welder I bought to learn how to weld with. I do also have a couple of Astro air tools and they are fine for what I paid. Just get irritated when a company sells a re-branded product but dosn't carry service parts when it stops working. Have a good day. I was just informed that I'm going shopping.... :willy_nil

I have some AP cable operated hose clamp pliers model 9409A and the crimp on the end of the cable broke off under NORMAL use like the 2nd time I used them. Can I warranty these?

Its Great that you finally got them warranted. Im assuming the Crimp that came loose was the one that controls Wire and allows them to operate? Did AP indicate why they weren't originally covered? Proof of Purchase? Out of Date? Non Warranted tool?

Welcome to the site. I too am glad a manufacturers rep with a helpful outlook is on board.

This is an active site with folks who take their tools very seriously. Just a bit of a forewarning, because the folks here are passionate about tools, you may catch some grief from folks who have had an issue with a tool, but a quick response will go a long way to keeping things under control.

That is indeed the crimp that broke. They said it was not an item that carries a warranty and is considered a consumable. They also implied that I may not have adjusted the tension correctly as there is an adjuster, but it was adjusted correctly (it came with no adjustment instructions either). The wire/cable didn't break, the crimp just popped off. I think it wasn't crimped correctly.

What's the warranty process for the ball joint press c-clamp portion? I have a bent one. Glad it bent and didn't break, that would have been a disaster. The screw is just fine, seems like a quality tool! Thank you

No it's just nice to see some representation from companies, this is the most active tool forum out there, it's a great touch to have personal communication with guys and gals like you.

Welcome to the forum, I expect you will find us "active".

It is truly our pleasure to be here.
At the end of the day, it is the end user that counts.

Anyone going to SEMA this week?

I appreciate the wise words.
I will do my best to provide Astro Tool users with the best responses and most thorough information possible.

Would you be so kind as to provide a model # so I can ensure that i provide the most accurate information available?
Thanks :D

The ball joint press is part #7865. Part #01 in the kit is C-frame in question. It is bent slightly so that when you tighten the screw the end of the screw wants to "walk" off of the head of pressing cup. Thanks!!

If you purchased the entire kit, then the parts are under warranty for 1 year from date of purchase.

Hope this helps:Homer:

Your hose clamp pliers are a pile of junk,I have had mine replaced twice under warranty by two differant Cornwell tool dealers so far.The teeth for the locking mechanism stripped right out.Locked them and you can pull the handles apart real easy.Starting to do it a third time and getting replaced with a set of Mayhews when it happens.

Very sorry to hear that friend,
We are currently looking at some different options.

We also warranty the body of the pliers (not the hose) for up to one year after date of purchase.

Our customer service line is (800) 221-9705.

Hope this info helps

Just bought a 3/8 drill 1800rpm with keyless chuck.
It was an ebay purchase. Can I get repair kits for it?

I purchased your 7897 ball joint press set awhile ago. Upon receiving I noticed the "arbor" that goes into screw wasn't long enough to hit the ball bearing inside it, by about a 1/4 inch. I called customer service, the lady I talked to was very nice (name was Nichole, I still had the email) and she promptly sent out another screw and the two arbors. Well it was the same so I just took it to work and turned the end down. So, I'm ok but just thought you might want to know as it must be more than just mine, maybe your well aware already.

Thank you very much for your input and review Kapster.
