My garage has been finished for awhile and at the time I just got caught up with life (kids, work, some health stuff etc etc all the excuses) and I never really did a build thread. So going to try and quickly get through the basics of the build. I have hundreds of photos and this was an owner build so if anyone has any questions ask away and I will do my best.

The garage is 56x56 overall. The "storage" side is 36x56 and the shop side is 20x52. The whole building is foam insulated and the shop side is conditioned.

This will be very picture intensive as I am trying to slim down about a years worth of work and hundreds of pictures into a relatively small snap shot.

Here we go:

That pretty much brings us to today. Almost everything is moved in and organized. Excuse the storage side. It is not fully organized yet to my OCD's liking, so I am a little embarrassed about that side at the moment.

Started working on finishing up the bathroom, that is the last "major" item on the list.

Once the bathroom is done I will start working on plumbing all the air lines from the compressor through the wall and into the shop. There will be retractable reels mounted in several locations.

This brings us to today. Now let the projects begin. I will mostly be doing woodworking out of the shop side and then simple auto maintenance, oil changes and such. I do have a full Thuren suspension kit for the Ram that will eventually make it's way into the truck as soon as time allows.

Thanks for looking 👍

Awesome looking building, great interior and looking forward to the happenings inside and yes i am jealous of the size of your shop.

Thank you very much for the kind words!

Would you be so kind as to share how much this cost by phase? Slab, framing, electric, etc?

Thanks in advance.

I can. I have all that data on my computer. I will have to do some grouping and some math. I have a spreadsheet of all the payments that were made along the way so some phases are broken up by date into several payments. Some of the subs wanted a down payment and then a final vs some didn't care and wanted paid in full at completion vs some wanted several payments along the way after each smaller phase of their duties.

WOW Boost! Very nicely done!

Thank you!!

Great looking shop! I hope I can see mine through to something approaching this level...

Thank you for the kind words! My wife sometimes gets on my case regarding my OCD but she sure didn't mind it when I was building our house haha. She had a vision in her head and we made it happen!

About time Boostin' !
Fabulous looking space. OCD beyond mine, so that makes me feel better.
Great vision and execution. Outstanding result.

I know I know. I've been meaning to get a thread going. I have hundreds of pictures but tried to slim it down to just the major milestones of it.

Thank you sir! You have a pretty fantastic shop as well. I have always followed your thread.

I really need to get my audio finished up. I hate not having music and am using a crappy little stereo right now.

I planned ahead and build speaker boxes into the framing and prewired all the boxes back to one wall. I am going to cut out the sheetrock and build a recessed shelf with doors to hold the receiver and amp and such. I have 10 boxes in the building that will all hold 8" speakers.

it's difficult to plan ahead for everything like audio wiring such. Causes delays trying to know what is the 'most best-est' way. looks like a good plan. let us know how it turns out.

I definitely missed some things that I now wish I would have thought of. But I was also in the fortunate position being the "GC" that I could kind of sort of to an extent control the speed of the build. There were a few times I had some down time to really think about some smaller things.

I hear you on that last part. If you are willing to wait, it is much less of a hassle these days to just order I feel like. You can get exactly what you want, no more no less and our dealer even locked in our deal. Almost 5 months later when it finally arrived we showed up with her trade and a cashier's check, in and out, hassle free.

Not inside the garage today but stole tools from the garage.

I am trying to get a jump on the heat and keeping all the animals comfortable through the summer. I got some poles in the ground for some shade structures that I scored from a guy down the road. I just need to cut them down the height and slope and get the roofs welded back on.

Also looped about 80ft of misters through all the pens.

Now I just have to finish up the water side. I got a retractable hose reel to mount up on the side of the shed to make filling all the water bowls and stuff easier. Right now we just have a short little jumper hose and we have to drag all the bowls to the source or carry 5 gallon buckets of water to each one and that's getting real old real fast, so gonna hang like 50 feet of hose up.

Finished up out in the field. Got some more convenient water filling run for the animals and the misters all hooked up and working great 👍 I am going to add an irrigation timer to the misters so they turn off and on just in case work load is crazy.

Next step is trying to find a decent priced used water trough and doing a float to keep it full. Then we will be in business!

Took my daughter to her horse riding lesson today. She's been riding since she was four and is killing it.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get some garage time. We are hosting an out of school pool party / BBQ with my other daughters class. Hopefully after that they sleep the rest of the day. We've been on summer break for 1 day and I'm tired lol.

End of school pool party was a success. Good food, good friends, good beer. Now as planned the kids are extra tired and I am planning some shop time this evening. Hope will get a little project or two done. If I accomplish anything note worthy I will let you know 👍
