My dogs are Mostly good boys but occasionally sneak into the unfinished basement and pee on the untreated concrete floor. I don't go down there much and it's usually long dried by the time I find it.

Recommendations for cleaning?

Thanks

There is a product called Urine Off that works well. We sold lots of it until the price went beyond reasonable. Another was Nature's Miracle and Simple Solution, which also worked well and was more reasonably priced. One of the best products we sold to landlords to clean up smelly apartments was called OdorMute. It is a powder that you mix up and pour onto the stain. If you have a black light, it is the best way to pinpoint exactly where the problems are. Turn off the lights and use just the black light; the urine will fluoresce, just like Luninal does with blood. My guess is that it will look like a murder scene when you see all the spots that will need to be treated. I suggest that you circle the spots with chalk so you can see exactly where and what needs treatment. The OdorMute will be the best bet, and it comes in 1-, 2-, and 5-pound boxes/pail. Make sure to only get the unscented product. The enzyme action in OdorMute doesn't mask the odor, but chemically changes and eliminates it at the source.

Our 11 year old Bulldog has accidents in ours but she can’t help it due to being in the basement for 8 hours while we at work.

later on in the summer i plan to rip out the carpet and seal up the concrete.

Is this an option?

You need to eliminate the source of the odor; you will not be able to cover it up, as I have been told by people who tried to seal it in by painting the floor.

OdoBan is cheap and widely available. It's worth a shot as you can dilute it down for general cleaning duties. I've heard good things about Nature's Miracle, but have never tried it. A buddy in the business swears by Sha-Zyme
