I found the site high in the results for "precision screwdriver set" and find it interesting so I joined. My garage is quite small and certainly nothing to brag about or showcase but it's what I've got. I haven't made the "best" choices in life concerning my financial situation. But I've had a lot of fun!
Anyhow I'm not a mechanic by trade as a main income, it's more of a side gig these days. I did it for a while a long time ago but couldn't deal with the politics and had a huge issue with the shops sending people with cars that were unsafe in my opinion because they wouldn't take the time or spend the money to do certain jobs right or suggest work that was needed in addition to the repairs that the car was in for. People put their families in their cars and I felt that if something were to happen because of negligence of a shop after I informed them of a safety issue that needed attention I would not feel right about it. Some shops were somewhat better than others about this but strangely enough, it seemed like dealerships were the worst and smaller ones, were a bit better but the ones that did care were either too small to employ a full time spot or didn't last long.
I've been working on vehicles and other things since I was a kid, out in the garage passing dad tools under the car when I was old enough to understand what they were. I guess I was around 6 or 7. I've always been very curious to know how things work and was always asking him questions and before long, I was the little monkey crawling under the car or into the engine bay because I had small arms and fingers. He was a big guy so it wasn't always easy for him to reach things like bell housing bolts and the like.
I still do all the maintenance on my own vehicles and friends and family and take small jobs from their recommendations and I also work at an auto parts store and will occasionally pull a job from customers.
I'm also into all kinds of hobbies and interests which require mechanical skills including RC trucks, hence the search for precision screw drivers. If anyone has any recommendations on a decent set that includes very small torx and hex head bits, I'm all eyes...
Thanks,
X$IV
