Hi , I bought a old compressor I want to use in my shop , the tank is a 1945 John Wood , I test high pressure Hydralic system daily for my job ,so will be hydro testing the tank before I use it , the motor had been upgraded and was replaced but the current motor is toast , the compressor looks to be in good shape, I've have not had any luck finding out the manufacturer, the tags I've located only have a number stamped on them I've found some numbers cast into the head but that has lead me nowhere either, it would be great if someone could identify the compressor from the pictures I post , I could probably buy a new compressor for the money I'm going to have wrapped up in fixing this one up , but there is no fun in that
Thanks

Thank you
I've been looking for a couple days , I'm not very familiar with compressors ,
I have to get the tank tested and order a motor, I was going to get a 3hp 1750 rpm motor, with the pulley set up I have that would put me at around 574 rpm on the compressor
Would the 3 hp be sufficient and is that a good speed for that compressor
Thanks again
Jake

574 should be fine for proper lubrication. I would expect this to be a 5hp compressor but at that speed you are probably OK. You would need to do an amp check while it was running to know for sure.

Thank you for the information, I'll post some updated photos once I get the motor and everything cleaned up and running, living in Alaska it takes forever to get parts
Thanks
Jake
